Auto Spare Parts
How to Import Auto Spare Parts from China to Egypt
Can you import auto spare parts from China to Egypt? Yes. China is the largest single sourcing market for Egyptian spare-parts importers, covering everything from filters and lighting to full parts catalogs for Chinese-brand vehicles now on Egyptian roads. The process runs on the same core requirements as any import into Egypt (NAFEZA/ACID registration, GOEIC compliance, correct HS classification), plus a specific documentation step on the Chinese side: your exporter must register on the CargoX platform so their shipment data links to your NAFEZA registration before the goods depart.
Checked September 2026: ACID has applied to air freight as well as sea freight since January 1, 2026. This is an active regulatory area, so confirm the current rule before shipping.

The Market
Why is China the default sourcing market for spare parts?
Three things make China a default sourcing market rather than just one option among several:
- Manufacturing depth. For most spare-parts categories, China has multiple tiers of manufacturers at multiple price and quality points, in one country.
- Chinese-brand vehicle growth in Egypt. BYD, MG, Chery, Geely, Jetour, Changan, and GAC have all gained real market share in Egypt in recent years, and parts for these vehicles are frequently only available through Chinese supply chains. If you service these brands, China sourcing isn't a cost-optimization choice, it's a necessity.
- Price competitiveness at volume. For distributors and wholesalers ordering in quantity, Chinese factory pricing is generally the strongest available.
China to Egypt
What's different about the China to Egypt process?
Trading companies vs. factories. A large share of sellers on platforms like Alibaba or 1688 are trading companies, not the factories themselves, sometimes reselling output from several different factories under one storefront. This matters for consistency: a single "supplier" may not mean a single production line.
CargoX registration is now mandatory for every shipment mode. Since air freight joined sea freight under Egypt's Advance Cargo Information (ACI) requirement on January 1, 2026, your Chinese exporter must register on CargoX and include your ACID number on the commercial invoice and other shipping documents before the shipment leaves China, regardless of whether it's going by air or sea.
Communication speed isn't verification. A supplier who replies instantly on WhatsApp is not automatically a verified supplier. Verification means confirmed business licensing matched to the invoicing entity, confirmed manufacturing vs. trading status, and confirmed export documentation capability.
Sample orders are the cheapest insurance available. Before committing to a bulk order, a sample or small first batch reveals quality consistency, packaging discipline, and how responsive the supplier actually is to a problem, at a fraction of the cost of discovering the same issues in a full container.
Step by Step
What is a practical China sourcing sequence?
- Identify the exact part by OEM/part number, not a photo or model name
- Shortlist suppliers and confirm manufacturing vs. trading-company status
- Request business licensing and, for larger orders, a factory audit or video walkthrough
- Order a sample or small first batch
- Confirm HS classification and any GOEIC brand-registration requirement for the specific part
- Estimate landed cost before confirming the bulk order (see How to Calculate the Landed Cost of Imported Spare Parts)
- Confirm the supplier can register on CargoX and issue compliant documentation
- Register the shipment on NAFEZA and obtain the ACID number (see ACID & NAFEZA for Auto Spare Parts)
- Schedule pre-shipment quality control
- Ship, clear customs, and take delivery
Mistakes
What are the common mistakes specific to China sourcing?
- Treating a low unit price as the full picture without checking freight, duty, and QC costs
- Assuming a "1688 verified supplier" badge is equivalent to an independent factory audit
- Skipping CargoX registration coordination until the shipment is already booked
- Ordering parts for a Chinese-brand vehicle based on the model name alone, without OEM number cross-checking against the exact production variant
