What is the XGT Client Hub?
The XGT Client Hub is a set of free self-service trade tools for importers and exporters moving cargo between China, the Gulf, and Egypt. It brings container tracking across 12 shipping lines, a chargeable weight calculator for air and sea freight, an Egyptian import document checklist, five documented client case studies, and answers to common shipping questions together in one place.
How do I track my container or shipment?
The Track Shipment tool links directly to the official cargo tracking portals of 12 major shipping lines, including MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, COSCO, Evergreen, OOCL, Hapag-Lloyd, Yang Ming, ONE, CULines, and PIL, plus the universal Track-Trace container search. Enter your container number or bill of lading number on the carrier page to see the live position and status of your cargo. If you are not sure which line carries your shipment, XGT clients can simply send their B/L number to our team and we track it for them.
How do I calculate volumetric weight for air freight?
Air freight is charged on the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight in kilograms is length x width x height in centimeters divided by 6000 for standard air freight, or divided by 5000 for express courier services. Sea LCL shipments are charged by volume in cubic meters (CBM), which is length x width x height in meters. The Weight Calculator above applies the correct divisor for each mode and shows the chargeable figure instantly.
Which documents do I need to import into Egypt?
A standard import into Egypt requires a Commercial Invoice, a Packing List, and a Bill of Lading (or Air Waybill for air cargo), plus a Certificate of Origin, which directly affects duty rates. Regulated products such as electronics, toys, and machinery also need a Certificate of Conformity issued by a GOEIC-approved testing lab.
